Apple TV does look cool. Is it worth the price? I am not really sure about that. It is a bit pricey. Why not just download movies on your pc and connect your tv??

I could be wrong; it's judgement. And I'm hampered by the fact that I only have one HDMI plug on my TV, so I have to change plugs to switch from ATV to DVD... But the Apple TV is set to 1080i and the movies and TV shows I've watched so far appear to use the screen resolution and color to full effect.

"The screen resolution (HD only) is spectacular so that movies and TV shows I buy on iTunes look better than anything else on my television, possibly even including the Blu-ray DVDs I’ve watched on my Samsung DVD machine."

Is that right? The resolution of videos downloaded from ITMS is well below HD (640x480 if I remember correctly). Even the demos I have seen in the Apple Store have considerably poorer video resolution than DVD.
